This qualitative investigation aimed to understand the factors that motivate and deter Ugandans from donating blood. Together with Caroline M. Murtagh, we conducted 50 semi-structured in-depth interviews among donors and non-donors, as well as 22 key informant interviews with Uganda Blood Transfusion Services and Uganda Red Cross Society staff responsible for mobilizing and coordinating blood donation drives nationwide, to inform this inquiry.
